Overview
High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) is a thermoplastic polymer made from petroleum. It is one of the most functional plastic materials produced, and HDPE countertops can be found in a variety of commercial and lab facilities.
When not used as a countertop or work surface, HDPE is typically used in the manufacturing and production of plastic bottles and piping. This material is great for industrial settings that are exposed to high impact, greasy/oily substances (e.g. auto shops and production sites), laboratories, food testing facilities, and other scientific and industrial areas like marine biology research facilities.
